Storytime Begins September 6

Storytime begins again the week of September 5; join us for a story and a craft project each week!

You will find the weekly theme on the Children’s Program page link

This year, Storytime will be a little bit different than in years past.

Both Toddlers and Preschoolers can join us each Tuesday at 6:30 pm.

Toddlers (age 2-3) can join us for Storytime each Wednesday at 9:30 am;

Preschoolers (age 4-5) have their own Storytime on Friday mornings at 10:30 am.  We added this time to accommodate those children taking part in the 4K Program at school this fall!

While children of different ages are welcome, the story and craft each session will be geared toward a specific age group.  We can’t wait to see you this fall!

It’s Storytime!

Kids, get your parents ready for a whole new year of Storytime fun!  We will begin a new Storytime program on Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30 pm and Wednesday, September 15 at 9:30 and 10:30 am.  The program is the same at each of the three sessions, so choose the one that works best for your schedule.

The Storytime theme this year will focus on countries around the world.  We will be learning a little bit about a different country each week, singing songs, reading stories and creating wonderful art projects.  Children are encouraged to bring an object from home that begins with the letter of the week, or represents the country of the week, to show the group.

You will find the Storytime themes for each week posted on the library’s website.  To get you started, here are the first several weeks:

Sept 14/15:  “A” is for Australia

Sept 21/22:  “B” is for Brazil

Sept 28/29:  “C” is for China

Be sure to join us for this fun program which runs each week until spring.  What the bulletin boards and website for themes and any changes as they come up.  See you soon!

Storytime Fun!

Storytime at the Hammond Library is never dull – you just never know what will happen!  This week, our wee visitors were surprised by a visit from some local goats, and their owner, Carol Bodish.  The kids (both the human ones and the goats) had so much fun!  Carol explained about the goats’ hair, horns, what they eat and more.  Be sure to join us next time for a Thanksgiving celebration!  Thanks to Carol for wrangling her goats into the library – that’s not something we see everyday!

Farm Fun!

The StoryTime group had a great time this morning at the farm!  Stephanie and Dan Horstman were gracious enough to allow us to explore their farm.  The children enjoyed holding and petting chickens, ducks, sheep and a pig!  Despite chilly temperatures, everyone had a blast.  Check out some of the festivities:

Thanks to the Horstman’s for allowing us to visit your farm!
