This month, we will be showing Rio! We will also have low-cost snacks and all proceeds benefit the Library.
You are welcome to bring a pillow or blanket to make yourself comfortable – and, definitely, bring a friend!
The Friends of the Library are clearing out all the rest of the Gift Jars we have on hand – Chicken Noodle Soup Mix, Minestrone Soup Mix, Corn Bread Mix, Double-Chocolate Brownie Mix, Chai Tea Mix, Cafe Vienna Coffee Mix – $2 for all the soups, bread and brownies, $1 for the beverages. Individual Tortilla Soup mix: $.25! All proceeds benefit the Library…Stop in and get a few before they are gone!

Join the Friends of the Library for a brand-new event to raise funds for the Library!
The first Cupcake Buffet & Sweetheart Dessert Auction will be held on Sunday, February 13 from 2-5 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond.
Come and decorate your own cupcake; $1 each, 3 for $2 or 6 for $4. Enjoy games and movies with your family and come in out of the cold! You can pre-buy your cupcake tickets at the Library.
Be sure to stay for the Sweetheart Dessert Auction to bid on decadent desserts for your Valentine. Eldon Myer of Myer Auction Service will be calling the auction LIVE, which is sure to make this event even more fun!
We are also looking for yummy, fancy desserts for the auction. If you would like to donate your favorite dessert, please contact Michelle at 715/796-2281. We kindly request that you include a copy of your recipe; everyone attending the event will be able to create their own recipe book! Prizes will be awarded for the very best-looking desserts. Get out your aprons and start baking!
Please join us for the first Friends of the Library meeting of 2011! We will meet next Monday, January 10 at 6:00 pm at the Hammond Library. On the agenda for this meeting:
* Choosing a new meeting night/time
* Election of new officers
* Fundraising schedule for 2011: we have new ideas, and we need your help!
* Update on new building progress
Bring your calendars so we can schedule help for the next several fundraising activities. Invite a friend to join you – we need everyone to get on board with us!

The Friends of the Library will once again be hosting a Scrapmania scrapbooking day at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond. Join us Saturday, February 20, from 9 am to 9 pm for a day dedicated to getting your projects completed! We will have food available, beverages, make and takes and more. Look for registration forms soon at the library front desk or on the Friends group bulletin board in the front entry. See you there!
The Hammond Library Friends Group will be meeting again on Monday, July 13 at 6:30 pm. We always meet at the back of the library. You are all welcome to join us! See our website for more information on what the function of the Friends group is. At our next meeting, we will be finalizing our Christmas in July Garage Sale plans, as well as working on our plans for Hammond Heartland Days in August. Come and helps us plan these fun community events!
