Summer reading begins on June 8, while 2 yoga classes have already started for the summer. There are so many summer events scheduled, we can’t post them all here. Check them out today!
The Scholastic Book Fair is rolling into Hammond the week of July 12-16! The Fair will be set up in the upper level of the Library. Please pay for your purchases at the front desk of the Library. You are welcome to shop during regular business hours!
Scholastic always offers an array of books for kids of all ages and reading levels – many of them priced under $9.95! The Fair will be available for shopping during Summer Reading, as well. As always, the proceeds will go to support Library programs and resources. See you at the Fair!
It’s not just for kids anymore! Pick up a great novel or a how-to book for that summer project and you could win some fun prizes!
Adults and teens age 14 and older are invited to participate in our new Adult Summer Reading and Movie Review Programs! These programs are FREE and there is no committment required to participate. Simply read or listen to any book, or watch any movie, that you check out from the Library between June 9 and August 4 and fill out a review form. The forms will be entered into prize drawings to be held every Monday throughout the summer! Forms are available at the front desk. Make a Splash at the Library this summer!
Register your kiddos now for Summer Reading at the Library! This is such a fun way to keep them reading all summer, while having fun with their friends. The program will be starting on Wednesday, June 9, and run through August 4. There will be two different times available, 10:30 am and 4:30 pm to accommodate everyone’s schedules. There is no fee to join, but we do ask that you register your children so we can plan our activities accordingly. This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Make a Splash!”, so we will be incorporating all sorts of water-related activities, stories and fun. Get ready to get wet!

The Summer Reading program is gearing up, and the third, fourth and fifth grade students participating this year are moving online! As a part of the program, students will be reading a book, then posting a brief review of that book right here on our blog. Check back to this post throughout the summer to read the reviews and find new books for your family to enjoy!
